Riley's Masquerade Ball
29th August 2025
The Masquerade Balll is being organised in memory of Riley Blaker who was only four when diagnosed with a diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) in September 2015. DIPG is a malignant brain tumour, primarily diagnosed in children aged 5-9 and tragically is terminal upon diagnosis. Riley was a precious little boy who inspired so many with his courage and joy for life. It is incredibly important to his family and loved ones to keep his memory alive through community and personal fundraising events.
Our two very worthy, parent-led charities both work so hard to improve the lives of children and their families at their most difficult times. The Lexi May Trust (registered charity no. 1169177) are a Dorset based charity set up to fund family days out for children diagnosed with a terminal or life limiting illness. The charity was set up when Carly and Michael Hopkin lost their daughter Lexi May to DIPG in 2016. Abbie’s Army (registered charity no. 1149400) are a UK charity raising funds solely for DIPG research after the loss of their daughter Abbie in 2011. Currently there is no government funding to find a treatment or cure so research is so very important.
The evening will include food from Loose Moose, bar from The Saddle Stop, along with a silent auction and raffle, plus a ‘race night’ as part of the evening’s entertainment, featuring televised horse races upon which our guests can place their bets!
